Vintage Crockpot Disassembly Overview
Overview of vintage crock-pot cooking appliance shown partially disassembled with its ceramic cooking vessel bound with rows of bare heating-element wiring. The bare wires overlap a small piece of insulation board made entirely of compressed mica. The mica insulation also has three sections of asbestos-insulated electrical wires attached which are connected to the device's control switch and plug-in cord. These internal components are found between the thin, outer metal cover and inner ceramic pot; no other insulation material was found within this model of appliance.
Ceramic Clay Pot Smoker
This is a terracotta/clay pot smoker that we made in the style of Alton Brown (Good Eats). We cooked ribs and sausage in it.
